Arielle Soucy is a Canadian singer, songwriter and musician, graduate from Montreal’s Concordia University in Music Performance. Although her music is mostly a blend between folk, soul and jazz, the influences and inspirations of the young composer are very diverses; baroque contrepoint, middle age polyphonies, minimalism, polyrhythms, rock or samba are some of them. Her approach to composition is about finding a balance between intricacy and simplicity and about creating music that as space. Fascinated about the human voice, she avidly studied classical singing technique and literature, but also complemented her undergraduate studies with composition and improvisation classes. Currently, she works as a professional soloist and chorister in Montreal, and is working on recording her first album of original songs.
